Didactic Information Most deities seem to be associated with natural phenomena. The burnished surface of this vessel is engraved with two faces with Olmec features associated with a supernatural, identified as the banded-eye god or God VI. Some evidence suggests an association with the sea, while some scholars propose that this represents an Olmec maize god.
