German born Gleich resided for a brief time in California, but likely visited Tucson where he saw the Catalina Mountains. Inspired, the artist transferred this scene onto canvas. Shortly after he moved back to Germany. Examine this work. It has a very high horizon line, emphasizing the foreground, plants, and topography. (October 2014) |
