Dye was one of the founders of the Cowboy Artists of America (CAA) established in the mid-1960s. He worked to revive art of the West which floundered during the Modern movement. A prolific storyteller, his paintings revealed his ability to convey multiple contexts about the West, whether of cowboy and ranch life or Native American cultures. |
