Didactic Information |
Crystal, located within the Chuska Mountains on the Navajo Reservation, has its own unique style of weaving. Crystal textiles are identified from the vibrant red, white, gray, and brown-black wools, as well as their strong central designs. The Crystal trading post, once run by J.B. Moore 1897-1911, was an essential hub for buying and selling weavings in the region. Today, it is still a source of livelihood for many Navajo weavers. |
