Dicochea creates contemporary revisions of traditional casta paintings. This genre was popularized in 18th-century colonial Mexico, which documents and socially ranks post-Conquest mestizaje, racial mixing in the New World. In this painting, a generalissimo sits with his companion, who sports the face and arms of the Statue of Liberty. Nearby, their two daughters, also in frocked dresses, each resemble the face and hairstyle of "The Bride of Frankenstein," reinforcing the hybrid nature of racial and cultural mixing. By replacing the original figures from these paintings with characters from popular media, comics, and world histories, Dichochea addresses the legacy of colonialism, hybrid identities, and stereotypes. ----- Dicochea hace cambios contemporáneos a pinturas castas tradicionales. Este género se popularizó en el México colonial del siglo XVIII, que documenta y clasifica socialmente el mestizaje posterior a la conquista, la mezcla racial en el Nuevo Mundo. En esta pintura, un generalísimo se sienta con un compañero, el cual su rostro y los brazos son remplazados por los de la Estatua de la Libertad. Cerca, sus dos hijas, vestidas de gala, cada una se asemeja a la cara y el peinado de "la novia de Frankenstein", reforzando la naturaleza híbrida de la mezcla racial y cultural. Al reemplazar las figuras originales de estas pinturas por personajes de medios populares, cómics e historias del mundo, Dichochea aborda el legado del colonialismo, las identidades híbridas y los estereotipos.
